We’re excited!

It’s 2016, and Lorde’s Pure Heroine will be turning three years old in September. The last time we heard of the 19-year old pop diva, she released Magnets which she wrote and recorded with Disclosure in 2015. Lorde has been also involved on the soundtrack album for the movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 where she recorded three songs.

So what’s her plan this year?

Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, whom we lovingly call Lorde, has been working on new material since December 2013, just three months after the release of her debut album. In June 2014, she described the new album will be “totally different” from the first in terms of themes. Lorde won’t be writing songs about suburban teen life anymore. She will probably be writing songs about her coming of age in the spotlight.

In May 2015, Lorde published to her official Tumblr that she finally got into the studio to record on songs. She revealed that the new album will be inspired by the Dancing on My Own singer Robyn.

In the first day of 2016, Lorde tweeted that she whispered the name of her sophomore effort to her mother.

Whispered the album name to my mum in the car today”, Lorde tweeted.

We can only imagine what the name will be but we’ll never know until its official.

Lorde also tweeted afterwards and revealed that she is excited for this year, which makes us excited as well.

Feeling quietly excited about 2016”, Lorde added.
