San Francisco based Mashup artist, Jordan Roseman, more famously known as DJ Earworm has just uploaded to YouTube his mashup of the Top 50 pop songs of the year 2015.

Mashups in the past few years have become very popular especially with other artists like Daniel Kim, Robin Skouteris, Isosine, and DJ Dreamport uploading their own year-end mashups on their YouTube channel.

The reason behind the popularity of mashups must have been the fact that listeners get entertained by hearing their favorite songs remixed and mashed up in a single play. What makes it so fun to hear is how two different songs can sound so good together. They sound even better when one song can segue smoothly into another song without breaking melody.

DJ Earworm has uploaded his ‘United State of Pop’ series since 2008 with “Viva la Pop” where he first mashed up the Top 25 Billboard hits from that year. Earworm’s ‘United State of Pop 2009 (Blame it on the Pop)” video has been viewed 46 million times since December 2015. It is Earworm’s most popular video on his channel.

Other artists followed DJ Earwom’s mashups and have uploaded their own remixes. A popular one would be Daniel Kim’s “Pop Danthology’ series. Kim who is considered a great competition against DJ Earworm has just uploaded his mashup last month. This time in two parts!

DJ Earworm’s mashup this year called ’50 Shades of Pop’ include this year’s popular radio hits. It features the bassline to The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face over clips of the songs Sugar by Maroon 5 and Sorry by Justin Bieber. On the second half of the song, the beat from Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do played over other more songs. The Goulding song was featured in the movie Fifty Shades of Grey.

YouTube offers a lot of mashup artists, so just be on the lookout for someone who might remix your year’s favorite songs.
