Wonggoys at the Solaris Stage, LifeDance 2017

With their new album already out last weekend, the Wong brothers are now ready to take the stage at Sinulog’s LifeDance 2017!

Six years after their very successful first album, Cebu’s favorite homegrown talents the Wonggoys have just released their second one, High Hello on January 7, 2017. Their new album, which has a tracklist of nine original songs , features a departure from the tender acoustic-driven sound of their previous record, 2010’s I’m Not Sure What to Say But I’ll Say it Anyway.

With High Hello, the brothers experimented a new approach to their music, adding in pianos, violins, synths, and even vocoders. One track from the record, Voices, even has a pop punk feel to it thanks to its heavy use of electric guitars and pounding drum beats. Meanwhile the track Blurt is an R&B/Pop hybrid that even Bruno Mars would love to jam to.

Now almost a week after the brothers, Gabe, Billy, and Kyle stopped by Jiggy in the Morning to promote the new record, they’re ready to play it out live to a crowd of thousands at Sinulog’s LifeDance 2017’s SOLARIS stage.

Wonggoys will perform together with other Filipino band favorites, Up Dharma Down, Ransom Collective, Jensen & The Flips, Missing Filemon, Drop Decay, Womb, Loop, Bethany, Honeydrop, and 2B Boys. The bands will rock out on January 13 at the City De Mare, SRP, Cebu City.
