Calvin Harris’ new Reggae Song

After the song debuted on Spotify, the hyped-out speculation that it is about Taylor Swift has finally been confirmed through the lyrics. Check it out!

Calvin Harris collaborated with up-and-coming 26-year old English singer John Newman for a new single called Olé, a very chilled reggae song that is in fact a diss song to Taylor Swift.

Calvin Harris’ new Reggae Song

After Taylor and Calvin broke up their 15-month relationship in May, Taylor swiftly made PDA’s with actor Tom Hiddleston right soon after. It was alleged that Calvin knew that Taylor was seeing Tom during the last weeks of their relationship which is the reason they called it quits.

A few months later it was reported that Calvin was working on a new track with John Newman that allegedly contains lyrics about Taylor Swift’s infidelity. But sources have told several outlets that the song was written way before Taylor and Tom even met. However, when the song finally came out in the weekend, it’s not hard to picture Taylor Swift when reading the lyrics.

The Harris-penned lyrics (which is initially reported to have been written from Tom Hiddleston's perspective) still suggest as so. With lyrics like “Lowkey, you won't tell none of your friends about me” and “My heart speaks. I ain't seen you or been with you for weeks. But I see online that you've begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend. Being attentive, continue to pretend” suggest that the narrator of the song is secretly seeing the girl that brings “too much sunlight to my day”.

Whether the track was tweaked after the Harris-Swift breakup, or the "sources" were lying, or Calvin was just using Hiddleswift to get the track publicity, what’s important is that the song is good and we finally got a diss track from one of Taylor Swift’s exes.

Here are the lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Lowkey, you won't tell none of your friends about me
You won't tell them I occupy your dreams and your thoughts
Look at what we have started
I feel so good when I leave your apartment
[Pre-Chorus 1]

I know, there's no telling how far you can go
And you won't want to hear about my love and my lust
Babe that I have been feeling
I kiss you once, then I stare at the ceiling

[Chorus]
Olé, you bring too much sunlight to my day
And only you can chase the pain away
You bring too much sunlight to my day, my day

[Verse 2]
My heart speaks
I ain't seen you or been with you for weeks
But I see online that you've begun to be
A good girl and take trips with your boyfriend
Being attentive, continue to pretend

[Pre-Chorus 2]
But no, cause there's no telling how far you can go
You've hidden my name on your phone so you can
Call me to tell me you've been going through hell
Left him alone and you booked in a hotel

[Chorus]
Olé, you bring too much sunlight to my day
And only you can chase the pain away
You bring too much sunlight to my day, my day

[Bridge]
I can't control myself around you
I can't control myself around you
I can't control myself around you
I can't control myself around you
I can't control myself around you
And I'm singing...

[Chorus]
Olé, you bring too much sunlight to my day
And only you can chase the pain away
You bring too much sunlight to my day, my day
Olé, you bring too much sunlight to my day
And only you can chase the pain away
You bring too much sunlight to my day, my day
