90’S Brit Bands

If you’re a beloved 1990’s British rock band, then there is no better time to release a new single than this year. It’s no secret that we all badly want the Gallagher brothers to get back together and especially since Liam Gallagher has been teasing an Oasis reunion last year, so since then we’ve always been craving for new materials from our favorite 90’s Brit bands.

Recently, Radiohead surprised everyone when they came out with two new tracks and a new album since 2011’s King of Limbs. Their new album A Moon Shaped Pool released three weeks ago was always been anticipated by fans and music lovers everywhere. Fans were always itching for a new Radiohead track especially when the band teased everyone on Christmas Day 2015 by releasing their theme song for the James Bond movie Spectre. The song was uploaded to the band’s soundcloud account after a year of the movie’s release.. Sam Smith’s Writings on the Walls was used as the official theme song of the movie instead of the much better Radiohead track.

Another British rock band from the 90’s who last released a new single longer than Radiohead or any other musician I could think of is The Stone Roses. Most popularly known for their sublime storm of a track I Wanna Be Adored, The Stone Roses last released a record in 1994, and that was only their second album Second Coming. They released singles off that album a year later. Since then, the band hadn’t released any new material. Not until just last week when the band unexpectedly released a new song called All For One. The new single reminiscently channels the sound of Oasis and The Beatles, which kinda desperately makes us want Liam Gallagher to put his thinking cap on and get reunited with his brother Noel immediately. But as long as Stone Roses is releasing album number three, then we will still manage.

Super Furry Animals popularly known for their tracks Golden Retriever and Hello Sunshine was also known as being one of the best bands to have come out from the second wave of the British Invasion. The Welsh psychedelic rock band last released an album in 2009 called Dark Days/Light Years. Just recently and very coincidentally, Super Furry Animals released their new track along with a music video on the same day Stone Roses released theirs. SFA’s comeback single is a reminder of their joyous brilliance. The band put out the song as an unofficial anthem for the Welsh football team. In a press conference, it was announced that song was aimed to be a “beacon of faith to return to when your best center-forward gets sent off, or it rains at your festival”.
